FAQ

Do I need to be able to read music?

Not at all! While we can teach you how to read sheet music, many students learn best by ear. We will adapt the teaching method to whatever works best for you.

What styles of music do you teach

We teach a wide variety of contemporary styles including Pop, Musical Theatre, Folk, and Jazz, as well as classical fundamentals that apply to all genres.

My child wants to sing. At what age should they start?

We generally recommend starting private voice lessons around age 7 or 8, when the voice is ready for gentle training. For younger children, we focus on general musicality and fun!

I’m tone deaf. Can you still help me?

True “tone deafness” (amusia) is extremely rare! Most people just need guidance on how to listen and coordinate their vocal cords. We specialize in helping beginners find their pitch confidence.
